Information Sent by a Visitor
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is passed to the third-party provider that supplies that result flow. Our servers do not retain a copy of those search terms. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Site Data
Hosting systems may record ordinary technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use aggregated information to maintain the service and understand which reference pages are useful. Cookies or related tools can support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
The limited data described here supports operation, security, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference pages. We do not sell a visitor list or create individual visitor profiles from it.
External Services and Links
Gardner Residents Directory links to public offices, library collections, archives, and search providers. Their own privacy terms apply when you follow a link or submit information there. Sponsored result providers likewise control the information entered into their separate service.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and technical vendors can process logs to provide the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when a valid legal process requires disclosure, and not for unrelated purposes.
Security Practices
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or resident profiles stored by Gardner Residents Directory.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent information to us and we will remove it where possible.
Access and Deletion Requests
Depending on a visitor’s location, they may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of data a service keeps. Massachusetts public-records law, MGL c. 66 and MGL c. 4, §7(26), governs government records, not this private reference service. Because we retain very little, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and applicable logs. Use the Contact page. A request to correct or remove a government record must go to its custodian.
